Easy to Use
1. The belt is placed around the resident with the buckle conveniently located and the red loops are on the outside. If the resident has the inclination to attempt to unbuckle the belt then the buckle should be oriented to the side or back out of their reach.
2. After the belt is placed around the resident it should be adjusted to a snugness where the belt doesn’t slip but isn’t uncomfortable.
3. Once the belts are properly adjusted on the resident then based on the resident’s weight, gait ability and caregiver strength, a nursing professional should determine the appropriate number of aids to be used when assisting.
Easy Care
The transfer belts can be laundered in an institutional laundry but dried at temperatures (180°F, 82°C or lower). The belts can also be wiped clean with a standard disinfectant. When the belt exhibits excessive wear, it should be discarded and replaced.
