These Bio-Shield Gait Belts provide lifting and walking assistance while addressing infection control.

Bio-Shield Gait Belt is intended for use when lifting, ambulating or transferring patients. It is not to be used as a safety restraint in a chair or bed. Since the Bio-Shield Gait Belts minimize the risk of harboring pathogens, they are to be used in lieu of fabric gait belts when a reduced pathogen environment is desired.

Bio-Shield Gait Belt Handle is designed to aid caregivers by providing an ergonomically secure and comfortable way to grip the gait belt when assisting with standing and walking. The handle fits around the female portion of the gait belt buckle.

Supportive Gait Belts: Our Gait Belts are designed to provide vital assistance to caregivers during patient mobility and transfers. They serve as dependable aids, offering a secure surface for caregivers to hold onto, ensuring patients' safety and comfort.

Caregiver Well-Being: Beyond aiding patients, these belts prioritize caregiver health and safety. They offer additional support to minimize the risk of back injuries among caregivers, enhancing overall well-being.

Sturdy and Versatile: These gait belts feature a robust 2-inch width and are available in lengths of 60 inches, 72 inches, or can be customized to meet specific requirements. Their durability guarantees long-term performance and they are easy to clean.

Bio-Shield Gait Belts
● Easy to Use
When an individual is at risk in ambulating without assistance gait belts should be used. The gait belt should be placed around the waist and when the buckle is closed the gait belt should fit snugly but not too tight to introduce patient discomfort.

The Delrin side release buckles are secured by inserting the male end of the buckle into the female side. To release the buckle, simultaneously press the tabs at the top and bottom of the buckle. Before ambulating the patient make certain that the buckle is positioned out of reach of the patient.

The patient should be ambulated by having the caregiver placing their hands through the belt palms up and grasping the belt. Before ambulating the resident, it should be confirmed that the number of caregiver’s and their ability is sufficent for ambulation without introducing risk to either the caregiver or patient. The belt should be inspected before each use to assure that it isn’t defective.
