We were sent the fixed base although we ordered the adjustable base. But we made the fixed base work to avoid the hassle of return. Customer service was helpful to refund the price difference. It's a well made product and very functional. Easy to use. As long as the person can be helped to stand up, the rest is a breeze. Our floor is non-carpet. Easy to roll the cart around. Second time Ive bought this particular cushion. Im over 300lbs and the cushion lasted over two years. I am very active, and i tend to plop down on my chair as opposed to sitting down slowly, so i cause a lot of damage. Its very comfortable. The service i received was great. My product was back ordered. They contacted me quickly and gave me the option to wait or get a refund.
